Johvine Onyango Wanyingo is currently a member of Bahati Church, Bahati Parish, Nairobi Deanery, Diocese of Masogo East, while his home church is Pandpieri under Pandpieri Parish, Kuoyo deanery, Kisumu diocese.
Education
Johvine attended St. Vitalis Nanga Primary School Kisumu and exited in 1997. He proceeded to Kisumu Boys High School and sat for KCSE in 2001.
He joined the University of Dar es Salaam and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing Option) in 2005. He did a diploma in Social Works and Community Development at the Regional Institute of Business Management (2008), a constituent college of Kenyatta University.
Career
A close look at Johvine’s life shows a man in love with research from an early age.
One year after finishing high school, February to June 2002, Johvine worked with Stancom Alliance Limited as a marketing clerk, with a key role of registering farmers and conducting stock-taking in tobacco-buying shades of Migori and Kuria districts.
Between 2002-2005 while still in campus, he got engaged in part-time research work with various research firms such as Steadman (now Ipsos), Research Solution (now Dalberg Research), and the Rift Valley Railways Kenya Limited
In June 2005, he started his career as a field supervisor, then rose to the rank of field coordinator at AC Nielsen, now Nielsen Research Services.
From June 2006 to March 2009, Johvine worked as a field manager with The Steadman Group at IPSOS Kenya, gaining valuable experience in field management.
From June 2009 to January 2010, he was engaged part-time as a researcher and consultant at Africa Development Alternatives (ADA), contributing to various research projects.
He honed his operations management skills at Infrotrak Research and Consulting Kenya Ltd, where he worked from February 2010 to May 2011, serving as a field operations manager.
From June 2011 to 2018, Johvine held the position of Country Manager at Infotrak Research and Consulting Nigeria, overseeing and managing operations in the entire ECOWAS 15 Country market, but based in Abuja, Nigeria.
Since January 2019, he has been the New Business Development and Regional Research Manager at Infotrak, focusing on expanding business opportunities and managing regional operations.
Career achievements
With 19 years of experience in the research field, Johvine has gained extensive expertise in marketing and social research, having worked with diverse clients in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has worked as an associate instructor at Strathmore University, teaching at the Centre for Applied Research Training (SCART) and as a visiting lecturer at Lagos Business School for the class of 2023, which is the graduate business school of Pan-Atlantic University.
Currently, he is actively involved in various organizations, including ESOMAR (European Society for Market Research), the Africa Market Research Association (AMRA), WAPOR SSA (World Association for Public Opinion Research in Sub-Saharan Africa), and the Nigeria Market Research Association (NiMRA).
He has held the positions of Treasurer and Board Member at the Marketing and Social Research Association Kenya.
Involvement in the church
Johvine’s participation in the church is deep and runs back to his days as a youth in Pandpieri parish. He is an active and dedicated member of the Holy Trinity Church in Africa, where he is involved in various activities that contribute to the well-being of the spiritual community.
Family life
Johvine takes great pride in being a family-oriented individual, blessed with a supportive and caring family. He has had the opportunity to provide education to numerous underprivileged students.
